Indian automotive leader Mahindra & Mahindra, M&M, has taken lead in deploying generative AI in its operations. Through the complete automation of robot and heavy machinery maintenance on the factory shop floor, the company has significantly reduced downtime and bolstered the morale of shop floor workers. Additionally, it has harnessed generative AI to train customer chatbots, leading to time savings for agents and delivering an enhanced customer experience.
"These use cases have undoubtedly bolstered our confidence to explore further. While we hold strong optimism for the capabilities of generative AI, we are currently utilizing it in a co-pilot mode. The technology has yet to attain full maturity for independent operation," said Bhuwan Lodha, SVP and head of digital at M&M auto sector.
