"You need global rules, regulation and standards to develop the global market for AI. This is also needed to have clarity on the rules and the responsibilities as a company," said Philipp RöGsler, former vice chancellor of Germany and Acronis board member. The lack of AI regulation "causes uncertainty and makes it challenging for companies to focus on the AI market," he said.

In this video interview with ISMG, Rösler discussed:

  • Why global AI regulation is needed;
  • How are cybercriminals using AI for attacks;
  • The merits of the European Union's proposed AI Act.

Rösler previously served as the federal minister of health and federal minister of economics and technology for Germany. He has also founded Consessor AG and is the honorary consul of Vietnam to the Swiss cantons of Zürich and Zug.
